At

[Core] we treat patients experiencing back pain using a three-pronged approach: evaluation, treatment, and education. How we approach each of these steps is what ultimately makes [Core] a uniquely successful treatment and rehabilitative clinic.

Evaluating
With every patient, we begin with identifying the “why” behind his or her problem and/or pain. Our ability to assess the area of inflammation — and most importantly, what has caused the inflammation and the many possible variables that might be linked to that process — is the cornerstone of our evaluative process and a key point of distinction for [Core].

We make no assumptions, instead dealing with each case on individually. For example, if someone has a pain in the low back, and there has been no trauma to the back, it is nearly impossible for the problem to be coming from the back alone. Something above or below the lumbar spine is not working well and creating abnormal stress on the joints and muscles of the low back leading to inflammation, pain, and eventual damage to the area.

To treat the back without identifying the “why” will produce temporary and partial results. We will often find reasons for your problems that others have not. We take a thorough history, but place emphasis on an observational and functional neuromusculoskeletal examination. This way we are not biased to your pain area. We will often find reasons for your problems that others have not.

Treating
At [Core] our treatment is primarily done through manual therapy, patient education, and exercise. Our approach centers around impacting the nervous system first. The nervous system and your brain control how you move and how you feel pain. If we can impact the nervous system, we can help many things. Secondly, we treat the muscle system. The muscle system has to have balance or there will be strain on your movements and your joints. Lastly, we sometimes have to treat the joints. We sometimes do this manually or assisted with acupuncture and nutritional supplementation. Our manual therapy consists of using our hands to improve the nerve, muscle or joint function through very conservative and safe procedures including the chiropractic adjustment and Active Release Technique.

Educating
Vital to our approach is patient education and self-care. We want to help you with your problem, and importantly, teach you how to keep it from coming back. We will teach you about your pain, help you not be afraid of it, and teach you how to move to keep it from returning. Almost every case involving muscle or joint pain needs some level of strengthening exercise education. We will make sure you are doing the right exercises for your situation and your level of ability.

Purpose
Our purpose at [Core] is to surpass your expectations of what a chiropractic clinic can be. By focusing on your needs and crafting a plan that helps you to fulfill your goals, we hope to make available the opportunity for you to fulfill your ultimate purpose in life.
