The Roanoke 70.3 triathlon is coming to town June 7, 2020 and we are hosting a free seminar where you can learn from local triathlon experts on how to prepare over the next year.

Our panel of experts will discuss the course outline, tips on training for a long course, nutrition and hydration, mental toughness and focus, work/life/training balance, and preventing repetitive injuries. We will also have time for questions and answers from class participants.

Daryl Rich, D.C., C.S.C.S.

Clinical Director of Core Chiropractic and Wellness Center with 15 years of treating repetitive injuries with endurance athletes. Certified in Active Release Technique (ART), which is the official Ironman® Soft Tissue Treatment partner. ART® is a patented, state of the art, soft tissue system/movement based technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves.

Betsy Henderson

She has completed over 100 triathlons in her 22 years of competing with 5 National Championships: 2 at the Sprint Triathlon distance, 2 Duathlon Championship and 1 Aqua Bike Championship. She had 2nd and 3rd place finishes at the ITU World Sprint Triathlon Championships and came in 3rd in the Duathlon World Championships.

Mark Long

He has completed over 106 triathlons in his 17 years of experience. He has raced for Team USA at the ITU World Championships twice, completed 10 Half and 3 Full Ironman races, and is the Local Director of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club and Endurance Sports Ministry.

Beni Gras Thompson

She has completed 10 Ironman races (5 full and 5 70.3 races) with multiple overall female and category championships as well as 2 ITU Wold Long Course Championships. She is currently training for 2019 Kona Ironman World Championships in Kona. She was the assistant coach of the Liberty University Triathlon team 2017-2018 and has been married 25 years and is the mother of 5.

Scott Moir

He has over 10 years of triathlon experience with 7 full and 14 half Ironman’s under his belt with 7 top 5 and 10 top 15 finishes. He competed in the 2013 Half Ironman World Championships and has won the Masters Division of the Blue Ridge Marathon’s half marathon several times.
